Employment - Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of the ten most frequently asked questions regarding employment at the Polynesian Cultural Center. If your question is not listed, you may contact us via email.

What types of are available at the Polynesian Cultural Center?

We have two types or categories of employment: full-time positions and part-time positions. The majority of our part-time positions require applicants to be full-time students at BYU-Hawai'i to apply.

I'm interested in full-time work. Is there a list of available positions?

You may click here to view the latest list of full-time job openings.  While we try to keep this list as current as possible, please be aware that changes can occur frequently.  Please review our mission statement, as well as our code of conduct and dress and grooming standards (you will need Adobe Reader to view these files, click here to download).

I'm interested in part-time work and am not a full-time student of BYU-Hawai'i. Is there a list of available positions?

You may click here to view the latest list of part-time job openings.  While we try to keep this list as current as possible, please be aware that changes can occur frequently.  Please email us to inquire about the availability of a specific position or have any other questions about employment. Also, please be sure to review our mission statement, as well as our code of conduct and dress and grooming standards (you will need Adobe Reader to view these files, click here to download). Please note, however, that other part-time positions are usually only for those currently enrolled as full-time students at BYU-Hawai'i or who live on the island of O'ahu. It is not feasible to apply for a position before you arrive on Oahu because applicants typically must be immediately available for interview by supervisors and managers and if selected be available to promptly begin our two-day New Employee Orientation.

I'm interested in work while I attend BYU-Hawai'i full-time. Is there a list of positions available?

Sure, but not currently online. Please visit our Human Resources Employment Office at the ground floor of the Lorenzo Snow (Administration) building on the BYU-Hawai'i campus for the most current list of available student positions.  In general, it is not feasible to apply for a position before you arrive on O'ahu because applicants typically must be immediately available for interview by supervisors and managers and if selected be available to promptly begin our two-day New Employee Orientation.

Do I have to be a member of the LDS Church to apply?

Not at all. You are, however, required to live and work by certain dress and grooming, conduct, and other standards that do coincide with the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Do I have to be a full-time student at BYU-Hawai'i?

Yes, for most part-time positions. The Polynesian Cultural Center was established, in part, to provide employment for as many BYU-Hawai'i students as possible. However, some unfilled student positions may be made available on a temporary basis to non-BYU-Hawaii student.  Since such positions change so frequently, please visit our Human Resources Employment Office for the most current list of available positions.

I am looking for an internship.  Are there any internship available at the Polynesian Cultural Center?

Currently, our limited internship opportunities are available only to current students attending BYU-Hawai'i.  Available internsips are not currently online.  Please visit our Human Resources Employment Office on the ground floor of the Lorenzo Snow (Administration) Building on the BYU-Hawai'i campus for the most current list (if any) of available student internships.
